Ok so I’m actually obsessed with Doutzen Kroes. Like, have a collection of photos of her on my ipad for constant workout motivation, kind of obsessed. She clearly works for that body.

I got a bottle of Beyonce’s Pulse at my internship over the summer. We frequently received little packages from companies hoping for a shoutout in our glossy pages. Most of the time, my bosses would just glance it over and pass it straight on to the interns. Hooray!
Not that I don’t trust Bey, but I was a bit skeptical to take this. The last perfume we got was Body by Burberry (of course my boss kept that one), and since NO ONE had claimed Pulse by the end of the day, I figured something must be off.
WRONG. Pulse smells like freshly squeezed grapefruit juice with the essence of ripe grapefruit plus grape and fruit undertones. Lucky for me, I think this combination is delightful. So now instead of eating half a grapefruit for breakfast, I spritz on a bit of Bey Bey’s product before I leave for class and get my diet on by osmosis. Welcome to the 21st century.
One of my roommates gave this to me. She interned at a marketing firm over the summer and was able to snag a few goodies for the suite. Just like Santa, she passed out gifts that seemed to be made just for us. Caroline, the swimmer, got Philip Kingsley’s “Swimcap” serum; long-haired Michelle got their fancy Vented Paddle Brush; and me, with fabulous ethnic hair, got the Minimizer serum. It’s made specifically for black hair and is A DREAM COME TRUE. I put one squeeze’s worth on my hair right before I blow dry it (course this is after I’ve used Carol’s Daughter’s Hair Milk- The Original). You can also apply it after straightening your hair. Argan oil adds sheen without being greasy. What a treat!
It’s never to early to start your Christmas list…

Style.com is launching a magazine based off their site to “combine the immediacy of the digital experience with the richness of print.” Ooh. The wording of that description alone is giving me the chills.
It’ll be interesting to see how profitable a jump from online to print will be. Maybe there’s hope for the industry after all.

I am in serious need of some strong chemicals on my hair. It’s dry, difficult to manage, and definitely has a case of S.A.D. This Neil George Indian Gooseberry Treatment Oil claims to fix all my problems. Who knows, but I’m a sucker for pretty packaging and any sort of “oil treatment,” so it’s going on my x-mas list.
